Building Effective Leadership Network

About the Series

AWSP's Building Effective Leadership (BEL) is a three-part series for leaders in years 2 and beyond. The series is built on the belief that authentic leadership is rooted in understanding and leveraging one’s own strengths and personality. BEL is not about lectures or your typical sit-and-get workshop.

To become an effective leader you need to experience dynamic, scenario-based learning that mirrors the complex challenges school leaders face every day. With your colleagues, you will navigate real situations and connect your leadership to your strengths to maximize the positive impact on students and adults.

The more effective school leaders are, the more resourceful, instructive, and effective our school systems can become. Professional learning is your super power and you won’t want to miss this!

What Attendees Have Said:

"BEL has been really helpful connecting me with colleagues from across the state who are experiencing the same things I experience. It helped me broaden my network to connect with people who might have other ideas around how to tackle the work." - Elementary Principal

"I would highly recommend BEL! I found it extremely helpful getting myself going during my first year at a new school. I’m happy to have had the opporutnity to participate now in my third year.”

It keeps me up to date with new practices and new initiatives coming down the road. It’s an opportunity to collaborate and validate the complex work we do as administrators."
