- Update your contribution to our Political Action Committee.
- Track local and statewide elections and attend campaign events to establish relationships.
- Sign up to be a “Principal Partner for a Legislator“, where you send a monthlyemail to your legislators to update them on different issues in your building.
- Invite legislators to visit your building or to be a “Principal for a Day.”
- Share the AWSP legislative platform with legislators (approved each October by the board).
- Join AWSP’s Advocacy Advisory Council.

- Prepare for and engage in the legislative session (read or listen to news/podcasts, study legislative platforms, read bill drafts if possible)
- Read AWSP’s weekly Legislative Update (published each Friday during the session)
- Email your legislators about bills
- Sign in support of or against bills
- Testify in support of or against bills
- Attend AWSP’s Day on the Hill in Olympia

- Email your legislators to say thank you for their work during the legislative session
- Nominate an effective legislator for AWSP’s Torch of Leadership Award
- Reflect on needs for the next legislative session to help inform the development of
- AWSP’s next legislative platform
