Register for One or More Leadership Networks
Leadership can be lonely, but it doesn’t have to be.
AWSP Leadership Networks bring school leaders together around shared roles, identities, interests, and problems of practice. They’re informal, member-driven spaces to connect with colleagues across Washington, ask questions, share ideas, and learn from the experience in the room.
There’s no presentation to prepare and no expectation that anyone has all the answers. You don’t come to a Leadership Network to hear from an expert. You come to learn from the expertise of the group.
Leadership Networks are an AWSP member benefit and are free to participate in.
What Happens in a Leadership Network?
Each network is a little different because each community is different. But meetings are designed to stay simple and useful.
You can expect opportunities to:
- Connect with leaders like you. Build relationships with colleagues who understand your role, context, interests, or experiences.
- Bring real problems of practice. Ask questions, talk through challenges, and learn how other school leaders are approaching similar situations.
- Share what’s working. Members may offer a short showcase of an idea, resource, strategy, or practice that could help others.
- Stay connected to AWSP. Hear relevant association, advocacy, professional learning, and statewide updates.
- Help AWSP listen. Questions and issues raised by networks help us better understand what school leaders are experiencing and where AWSP or our statewide partners may be able to help.
Facilitated by Members — Powered by the Group
Each Leadership Network has one or more member facilitators.
Facilitators don’t need to be experts in the network topic. Their job is simply to help create a welcoming space, keep the conversation moving, make sure different voices have opportunities to participate, and help surface questions or needs for AWSP.
AWSP provides the meeting structure, communication and logistical support, and statewide updates so facilitating remains a manageable commitment.
Interested in helping facilitate a network? We’d love to hear from you.
