A Conversation about Bell-to-Bell Cell Phone Policies in Washington

June 15, 2026

Join school leaders from across Washington, along with STAND for Children Washington, for a timely webinar exploring the growing conversation around bell-to-bell cell phone policies in schools.

Our special guest will be Dr. Angela Duckworth, who will share data context on this issue as well as a sneak peek of emerging findings from her Phones in Focus survey.

The session will feature principals and education leaders sharing real-world experiences with “away for the day” approaches at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, including lessons learned, implementation strategies, and the impact on student behavior, engagement, and school culture. Participants will also hear current research and statewide policy perspectives related to student phone use, discipline, safety, and learning environments.

Whether your school is considering a new approach or refining an existing policy, this webinar will provide practical insights, examples from Washington schools, and an opportunity to engage in thoughtful discussion about balancing student needs, family communication, and effective school leadership.

All participants will have the opportunity to complete a survey reflecting on their experiences and providing input on the resources and training that would best support their work in this area.
