AWSP’s Mission to Support You

We know how busy you are. Even our survey back in 2018, before the pandemic began, revealed 72 percent of principals work 56 hours per week or more. Ninety-one percent of you don’t feel like you can get your work done in an average work week.

We think that number is way too high, and we’ve made it our mission to discover more and new ways to support you and your colleagues in the critical work you do. This month, we want you to celebrate yourself and each other.

Gov. Ferguson Proclaims October Principals Month

Principals, it’s your month nationally and here in Washington. Governor Ferguson has proclaimed the entire month of October to be School Principals Month. Check out the official proclamation below. (2026 proclamation coming soon!)

Social Media Promotion and Prizes

We’ll post a new prompt each week during the month of October, asking school leaders about their thoughts and experiences. Watch for these prompts on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and in our weekly Principals Month email blasts.

Answer and You Could Win!

We’ll choose four of our favorite responses each week to win a $25 Amazon gift card! We get amazing and inspirational answers every October. We can’t wait to see what you’ll share this year. Your response may be featured in an upcoming blog post or issue of our Bookends magazine.
