ALERT: Incorrect Statements about DRS

ALERT: Teachers Pension Advisory Services Mailing Incorrect Information to School Districts


The following information is from the Department of Retirement Systems (DRS):

"A recent bulletin is circulating from a Texas-based company making incorrect and misleading statements about DRS.

 

The Teachers Pension Advisory Services (TPAS), with a postal address in Katy Texas, has mailed letters to Washington State School Districts. The letter states that the company can provide a 'free estimate of your Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS) benefits.'

 

The claims and information made by TPAS are not endorsed by DRS. DRS has no affiliation with the Teachers Pension Advisory Services. DRS does not sell or endorse any private products, financial, retirement-related or otherwise. We will never come to your home or call you to ask for your personal information.

 

If you receive any postal mail, emails or phone calls from TPAS, we strongly encourage you to contact the Washington State Attorney General’s Office and file a consumer complaint:
