Kamrica Ary-Turner is joining us from Tacoma, Washington having spent her formative years growing up in Anchorage, Alaska. An educator for over ten years, she seeks to advocate for the whole child with a passion around equity and inclusion, restorative practices, cultural relevance, and community partnerships. The root of this passion is driven by her own academic struggles and barriers throughout her life and educational career.
Kamrica has a bachelors in Strategic Communication from Seattle University while also playing four years of collegiate women's basketball. She went on to earn a Masters in Guidance and Counseling and an Educational Leadership Certification from City University of Seattle. In addition to her time in education, she has been heavily involved in community building through her volunteer board position with the Tacoma Urban League.
Throughout Ary-Turner's life, family has been paramount as she is the youngest of two children and is a very proud aunt to her niece and nephews Trevon, Paige, and Tyson. The importance of family is what prompted her to relocate to Arizona with her seven year old Miniature Schnauzer, Kingston. Ms. Ary-Turner is looking forward to finding local places to enjoy some of her favorite past times like roller skating, bike riding, watching sports, and watching her niece and nephews play basketball.
