About Julie

Julie spent ten of the last 22 years as a mom, nurse, chef, chauffeur, teacher, and event coordinator for her three children. For the other twelve years, plus three pre-kid years, she served in those same roles to over 1200 students. Her success in teaching can be attributed to one main factor - Julie created and fostered a relational community built on trust, respect, and kindness. Choosing to leave the classroom was one of the most challenging decisions she’s had to make, but Julie looks forward to continuing to have an impact on students in the classroom by doing her best to serve amazing administrators and educators across Washington state. Julie joined the AWSP team in July 2022. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University in K-8 Elementary Education and K-12 Special Education and is National Board Certified in Early Adolescence English Language Arts.

Julie and her husband, Chris, have three children; Conner, 22, Tyler, 20, and Hadley, 17 and live in Olympia. A perfect day would include a beach, the sun, and a great book - her family would be welcome to join, too.
