Celebrate with Us!
The past six weeks have been some of the wildest yet for school leaders, and we know you might not be feeling much love lately. This is not an easy time to be a principal. We've always said the job was incredibly challenging but the most rewarding job in the world. The work you've done just to open the doors this year for kids to be back is nothing short of inspirational. Your leadership matters now more than ever, and every...single...day. Thank you for everything you do for your students, staff, and communities. Each and every day, we celebrate you. This month especially, remember you are truly a super star.
While you're at it, be sure to check out the official proclamation from the state of Washington and Governor Inslee.
AWSP's Mission to Support You
We know how busy you are. Even our survey back in 2018 before the pandemic began revealed 72 percent of principals work 56 hours per week or more. Ninety-one percent of you don’t feel like you can get your work done in an average work week.
We think that number is way too high, and we’ve made it our mission to discover more and new ways to support you and your colleagues in the critical work you do. This month, we want you to celebrate yourself and each other.
A Message from Our Executive Director
AWSP Executive Director Dr. Scott Seaman shares this message with all school leaders on the the importance of your role, especially during a pandemic year. It all starts with YOU!
