Inclusion with Shelley Moore

AWSP is excited to partner with world-renowned educator, YouTube video sensation, TED talker, and our neighbor to the north, Dr. Shelley Moore on "The Infrastructure of Inclusion." Advanced districts with previous training from Dr. Shelley Moore will be invited to set up collaborative coaching sessions to coordinate with the series. Registration is limited to select districts. Tell Me Moore

Originally from Edmonton, and now based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Shelley Moore is a highly sought after teacher, researcher, consultant and storyteller and she has worked with school districts and community organizations throughout both Canada and the United States. Her research and work has been featured at national and international conferences and is constructed based on  theory and effective practices of inclusion, special education, curriculum and teacher professional development.

Her first book entitled, “One Without the Other” was released in July 2016 to follow up her TEDx talk hosted in Langley in January 2016. Shelley completed an undergraduate degree in Special Education at the University of Alberta, her masters at Simon Fraser University, and her PhD at the University of British Columbia. The Infrastructure of Inclusion

In this six-part series, we will look at what research and literature shows are infrastructural conditions that can support inclusion at a systemic level. Regardless of where communities are in their journey, this series will consider the needs of both students and teachers as communities continue to make the shift towards inclusion for all students.

Who Can Participate?

Participation in the Infrastructure of Inclusion series is currently limited to selected districts. No previous AWSP Inclusion training with Dr. Shelley Moore is required. All sessions will be held virtually in AWSP's Learning Management System. Please reach out to AWSP's Ashley Barker if you are interested in participating.

Collaborative Coaching Sessions

Advanced districts with previous training from Dr. Shelley Moore will coordinate collaborative coaching sessions by appointment, based on the availability of the district and Dr. Shelley Moore.
